CUSTOM WOODWORKING

Jerry Sanchez is a woodworking artisan. He is inspired by his creative ability to transform the organic quality of wood into functional art.
    He describes the end result as the "imaginative transformation" of wood into custom household items. His entertainment centers, patio furniture, coffee tables, serving trays, business card holders, beds, dressers, and unique kitchen cabinetry are works of art.
    Jerry takes special orders for any of the pieces described above, in whatever variety of wood the customer chooses.
    He says that when he was young he began to understand how organic materials could represent refined woodworking form. He pursued this process and absorbed all the technical skills he could, working with cabinet shops for ten years.
    Jerry became fluent with this perfected technical skill and, in the passing years, became aware of his unique creative ability to bring his artistic mind to the creation of unique and functional art he describes as "a beginning knowledge of all Renaissance creation."
    "I don't know what I'm doing until I see the wood. The wood grain inspires me and guides me in what form the piece should take. I use the time demanding process of matching the grains of the individual boards. I use very exotic wood which can cost from $40. to $150. each for a small board."
